Lying Tory Bloggers
I normally loathe butt-clenchingly awful blogging about blogging about blogging. But given that in this case the subject at hand is Iain Dale’s diary – he’s a washed up Tory who now spends his days spreading right wing guff about the interweb, and Guido Fawkes – one of these super-hyped blogs that are actually wafer-thin on content (it’s like finding out that the Premiership’s a pub league) – I’ll make an exception. Anyway, Dale’s being taken down by Justin McKeating guesting for Martin Bright at the New Statesman and at Chicken Yoghurt. The nub of the matter is that Iain Dale has a piece on 18 Doughty Street TV (an execrable Tory online tv station) about the Smith Institute which explains why they should lose their charitable status. Only Iain has forgotten to mention that he’s a trustee for the very similar charity-slash-independent-think-tank, Policy Exchange. Oops.
It’s a bit like 'Tories against the war', or 'Tories against corruption in politics'. 'A bit rich', or 'lying bastards'.
