Inhaling 9/11

We've all read the conspiracy theories about 9/11 - the gist of which is that the American govt did it to themselves to stir up hatred (or some such horse). The self-styled 9/11 Truth Movement claims include suggestions that individuals in the government of the US of A knew of the impending attacks and refused to act, or that the attacks were a "false flag operation" carried out with the intention of stirring up the American people (not necessary I cry!) in order to facilitate military spending, the restriction of civil liberties (they are thinking of the Patriot Act and such like), and a program of madly aggressive and profitable foreign policy...yada yada yada. And no, my use of yiddish does not denote an aceptance of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion as a legitimate historical document.

They claim that the collapse of the World Trade Center was the result of a controlled demolition and that United Airlines Flight 93 was shot down amongst other things (...) So far so bonkers-replace-analysis-with-paranoia.

This is much much more interesting, 'the malign aerosolization of late modernist architecture' from a great blog called the BLDBLOG:

A toxic cloud composed of industrial waste and human remains crept out from the aching, smoldering pit at Ground Zero and wound its way into the adjoining streets. Its vapors circled around and up buildings, pumped in and out of nostrils, mouths, and lungs, and stung the eyes of every woman, child, man, bird, and beast within a wide range. It spread itself on building walls and inside boiler rooms and left its trail on parked cars, handrails, and public benches. That day, New York City was blinded by a perpetually sickening haze.
