Abuja or Bust
It's Tenterhook Central here over the Commonwealth Games bid (speak it very quietly we don't give a monkeys, shhhh).
I was speaking to a friend over at one of Britain's national broadcasting corporations (you know the ones who jolt week to week from "massive new injections of funds" being announced to "er, yer all getting the heave" the next).
Declining my request to meet for a customary Friday refreshment he explained:
"All a bit hectic here at the moment - preparing for the 2014 Games either going to a country rife with corruption, mis-spent oil, bungled elections, poverty and crime - or maybe going to Nigeria."
